Our laser expertise

With deep knowledge in machine systems, optical components, and customization, and through partnerships with Preco, Tykma Electrox, and II-VI (Two Six), LMI delivers complete laser solutions with accessories, spare parts, and support.

Laser service & support

LMI operates a dedicated technical service team that handles installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency support. We also offer service contracts and a well-stocked inventory of spare and consumable parts.

Brief company history

1982

Tim Smith börjar professionellt reparera lasermaskiner och blir därmed en av de första i landet att arbeta med industriella lasersystem.

1990

I början av 90-talet inleder Tim ett nära samarbete med Laser Machining Inc. (USA). Under resten av årtiondet växer affärerna snabbt, och grunden för det som senare blir LMI AB läggs.

1997

LMI AB grundas, med Tim Smith som drivande kraft och Anders Matsson som medhjälpare.

2002

Amerikanska Laser Machining Inc. förvärvas av Preco Inc. och byter namn. LMI AB behåller dock sitt ursprungliga namn och fortsätter verksamheten i Sverige.

2004

LMI blir exklusiv agent för Electrox märksystem i Skandinavien.

2017

LMI blir återförsäljare av Bodor lasermaskiner.

2018

LMI flyttar till en ny, specialbyggd anläggning i Hjärpholn, Nås.

2023

LMI blir full servicepartner till världsledande IPG Photonics för att serva deras lasersystem i Skandinavien.

2024

LMI byter från Bodor till HSG Laser vad gäller större laserskärningsmaskiner.

2025

LMI blir Precitec-partner i Skandinavien med såväl försäljning som service av Precitecs laserhuvud.
